About

I'm a School Psychologist currently based in Boston, MA and a doctoral student at Boston University. I obtained my B.S. in both elementary and special education at a humble little university in central Wisconsin. My experiences also minoring in psychology gave me insight to how the worlds of education and psychology might blend, and led me to pursue advanced schooling in the field of school psychology. I obtained my educational specialist degree (Ed.S.) from the University of Washington in 2021, and am currently working toward my doctorate in educational studies at Boston University. I focus my research primarily on academic instruction and intervention (especially reading intervention), integration of evidence-based academic intervention with evidence based mental health treatments, and the implementation of evidence based practices in schools. From my classroom teacher training, I quickly learned that research doesn't always translate well to the practice space. Yet, our theories, whether well-defined or informal, influence how we practice. I am interested in implementation science and how to actively connect what we know from science to educational spaces, and this work requires a focus on practicality, flexibility, and excellence.
